Growing up, I used to love it when mom would let us get our birthday cakes from Park Bakery.
Well one time, I don’t remember if it was actually a birthday or if we had a cake for some other reason, my sister and I had our own little private feast on the icing off the cake unbeknownst to mom. Well, fearing mom would see the icing gone off the top of the cake and duck out on us ( a term that meant she’d go all spazzy crazy yelling at us…you know, like when my head splits open and the demons come out on my kids? Yah, same thing….) we tried to “cover” our deed….so what looks most like bakery frosting? You got it…Crisco.
Damn that was some good icing! LOL
We did that little deed when you were home for mom’s 50th B-Day almost 12 years ago. Remember, I threw her a surprise party and she got really PISSED at me…it was probably the first surprise party ever thrown for her and I learned my lesson that I will never throw another one. Well maybe next week I’ll get a cake big enough for a naked man to jump out of it, after all she will be 62.
You missed one thing from your story though. Remember how Aunt Margetta ate some of the cake the next morning and never said anything about the “icing”.
