We get on the plane tomorrow, and someone is already crying…and it’s not me. Morgan doesn’t want to go back to Germany.
As I was sitting here checking my email, she came to me and stood next to me with that “look” on her face. I asked her what she wanted and she just stared. She just does that… I finally said to her “I have no idea what you want unless you actually SAY the words, so what do you need?”
“I don’t wanna go back to Germaneeeeeeeee….. ” Can’t say as I blame her, I’m not ready to go back yet either to tell you the truth, but for another 2 years, that’s our home, our stuff is there and it’s just the way it is. I guess she must have forgotten about Fiona the cat she was excited to get back and see the other day, and her friends at school. She did this Monday morning too when it was time to leave the G-man’s house. She and Meg had spent the night over there with their girls and she had started crying when she got dressed and I had to go upstairs into the very purple, extremely girly bedroom shared by two of the girls (when it comes to decorating, Dawn is very talented, seriously!), sit on the floor and talk with Morgan to assure her that everything was ok and she’d see them again.
I think what spurred this episode, is the fact that her cousins spent the night here with them last night. (Imagine being 7 and having a whole day and night with 4 other kids between the ages 9 and 5 to play with all you wanted too….you can’t blame her for being sad…) And speaking of their ages….Kevin and I took them all out to Walmart yesterday. 9,9,8,7 and 5. (We had a good laugh anticipating the potential dirty looks we’d get from people with a brood like that, especially since they all look like they could be siblings.) Kevin had them following him around behind the cart like ducks, I wandered around like I have ADD, old people just smiled. In the end though…we were glad to have stopped at the 4 of our own we have, although we secretly wished we could have swapped our youngest two for the “other” Erne kids, as our youngest were the worst acting kids in the bunch. (go figure, huh?)
I want to leave you with this, I think it’s kind of funny. We were going into JCPenney one day for some summer clothes, and Jordan was crabby again. (not surprised, are you?)…Well, Kevin told her point blank to quit whining. She got mad and told him that she wasn’t whining….she was crying with no tears. Gotta love that brat huh?
You could drop morgan out with a shute and let her land at our house when you fly over.
***LOL would LOVE too, but actually…I’d miss her!
