Ever wake up and wonder what day it really is?
It happened to me this morning. (and no I hadn’t been drinking before I went to bed, thank you very much!)
For once, I woke up before the kids. Normally, when the kids are off of school, they are up before me, but for some reason, it was I, MOM, who rose earlier than the children. (evil little things….)
Anyway, my first thoughts this morning were:
1. What time is it?
2. Are the kids up?
3. How badly do I have to pee, can I go back to sleep and shoud I
4. What day is it?
You see, I didn’t know yesterday either. I woke up thinking that today was Wednesday, because the household “clues” led me to believe it was so. For instance:
No coffee was made. That *normally* rules out Thursdays since AFM has a meeting on Thursdays and doesn’t go to the gym, therefore, makes coffee. So, no coffee, it’s not Thursday.
Clue 2, I didn’t see garbage cans etc out in front of my neighbors houses. Again, can’t be Thursday because garbage would be out on curb, right?
It’s Thursday. It’s THURSDAY, the day after Wednesday, it’s THURSDAY.
AFM screws me up even worse when I call him to confirm what day it is. (yes, sad but true, I didn’t bother to find a calendar….too sleepy still lol) He tells me to remember to put the trash out. Huh? No one has trash out, so I check the “refuse schedule” and it says that this week, trash goes on FRIDAY. We then almost get into a fight because in a “tone” he tells me “well, people have their stuff out” BFD the schedule says FRIDAY. It can’t be Friday, it’s like Wednesday!
Then I consult my calendar. Handy little things ain’t they?
Today is Thursday. AFM did NOT have meeting so he went to gym, therefore, no coffee.
Trash will be picked up tomorrow, not today, some folks just already have their shit out.
Why does any of this matter? Well, it probably doesn’t, at least not to you, but for me, it confirms the fact that having children home for Christmas break makes you lose your mind.
And they want me to take them to town today. Ugh!
My kids want the same thing, go to town. And funny thing I forgot what dy it was last night. Steph corrected me.
