Dinner time at my house is always busy. Having a family of 6 makes for lots of dinner time chatter as you can imagine.
So last night, we’re talking about our day and out of my son’s mouth pops “mom, is that all you do is stamp and play on the computer after we leave for school?”
Now mind you , the kid always has clean clothes, the dishes are always clean and HE hasn’t been doing them right? So, how do I answer? I ponder for about 2 seconds, you know those two seconds where you ask yourself, should I go into a frenzy about how underappreciated I am, that no one ever notices or thanks me for all the shit I do to keep the house running…or do I smile and say some thing “snarky”
I play the snarky card. I tell him:
No, sometimes I go watch tv and fall back to sleep for 2 hours.
HaHaHa, you little (ok big) teenage smart ass. I know that you sneak and play your xbox after I go to sleep at night, or you stay up later than you think I think you’re up cause you played the xbox after school instead of starting on homework and you have a Geometry test you are taking on little sleep because you were up late studying and finishing said homework…. take that.
Is that all I do? You’re damn right.
