1. I’ll be away for a couple of days
2. My household good showed up today in PRISTINE condition
3. I GOT MY STUFF SO I’LL BE AWAY A COUPLE OF DAYS UNPACKING!!
So, I got the car for the afternoon the other day (Tuesday) and said to the boss “yah know, I think I’ll take it tomorrow for a while and head into town”…I thought for a moment he was going to start hemming and hawing about my stranding him at Sembach when he started with “you might not want to do that”…until he completed the sentance with “our household goods are being delivered tomorrow”
Holy freakin fast HHG shipment batman! It wasn’t due in until Sept 17th
Man, were those guys on the truck good! It took them a mere 3 hours to take all 11,000 pounds plus of boxes and furniture for us off the truck. That was 11 crates full of OUR STUFF!! Seriously, I’m considering having a huge “come by with a fistful of Euro’s and it’s yours sale” on stuff I just don’t feel like unpacking
(I should have taken a pic of that truck in our road, and better yet, with a bus passing. It was bad enough I had the entire street gawking at us that early in the day…a couple of old guys I swear were close to getting out lawnchairs and beer…anyway… Those German bus drivers ROCK..they can put those buses anywhere!)
Anyway, I’ll be away unpacking MY STUFF!!! But first, it’s 10 pm, I’ve had a looong day so I’m gonna go answer a “reader’s” question then go to sleep in MY BED..ahhhh, my bed
For Tanya:
The blinds you see on the outside are called Rolladins and there is a pulley inside the window that controls them.
You know those nights the kids have to go to bed and it’s still bright as noontime and they say “but it’s not night time yet?” The rolladins, my dear, are “instant night-time”. (I can see you wanting to get you some of them lol)
They’re good for shade during the day too, you can drop them all the way to where you leave little gaps for the breeze to blow through. I’ve got them on the door on the balcony and the doors off of my living room onto the patio. They are very nice. I’ll get some pics once the dust from unpacking settles
Ummm, yes I do need some of those!! Thanks for the info. I hope the unpacking goes well.
