Now, I’ll give credit and links to how I did all of that in case you are wondering.
As I searched and searched all of Splitcoast Stampers for “unmounted stamps” I came across soo many links posted by other stampers. Thank you so much to all of you who shared your links, I can’t give credit to all of you but THANKS!!!
First, storage:
DH emptied all of his CD collection into zipper binders so that I could have some cases for storage. Yep, standard CD cases.
In some where the stamp set was too big for one case, I taped two together on the inside with some thick double sided tape from the Dollar Tree (it was called Photo Mounting tape actually), and wallah! Custom cases for the big sets lol.
The cover insert is GP Cardstock cut to 4 3/4 x 4 3/4, stamped with the images in Sahara Sand. (tried Black at first, but it smeared too much and I didn’t like it)
The double cases has the label made from your standard return address label, the single was some big name badge labels cut down to 3/8 x 4″…just cut those in strips from a whole sheet with my fiskars cutter.
The background stamps are in clear DVD cases I ordered from Sleevetown I bought the “Super Jewel King” ones, the center of them pops out…..perfect size for BG stamps
I got the cute little storage crates from Wally World for like .97 each. Cheap.
Here’s a video that helped me visual CD case storage
Next, remounting:
I got my EZ mount foam here It’s called “Smart Cushion” Acrlic Block Mounting Cushion. Depending on the size of your stamps and how close you put them on the foam, I was able to get between 4 and 6 stamp sets per sheet. I did 80+ sets
. It can also be ordered from The Angel Company (more on that later too!)
Now, the best advice I found was to use baby powder on the sticky sheets before I cut them out. I’ll give you the link to a FAB tutorial, she explains it all waaay better than I could!! Go here
Stay a while and check out her blog…her work is amazing! (notice the “Bella” stamps too, I’ve got some coming!!)
What, no wood? How do you use your stamps?
I had a set of acrylic blocks I used at first until I found THESE Love love love them!! Nice rounded edges..they even made a custom size block for me too. Great customer service!!
Anyway, there’s where I got my “stuff” to condense my stamp sets
Ok. I’ve been wanting to jump ship into unmounted too…BUT the only thing keeping me back is the investment. How much would you say it cost you to go unmounted. AND, what size acrylic blocks do you *really* need?
