Back to reality

Well, it’s Monday and it’s like any other Monday…lazy. I didn’t go to the gym today, even thought I needed too because on my weekend away I know I consumed at least 50,000 calories

As mom’s, we really overlook the fact that we need time for ourselves to do something we like without having to break up kidwars every 15 minutes. This past weekend, I got that…time. Time to be myself, hang out with great friends, do something I love (scrapbook!!) and sleep in. It was awesome.

My bff H.S. puts on this amazing scrapbooking retreat in the middle of nowhere…and I kid you not, it’s in the middle of nowhere…take a look….

But being in the middle of nowhere isn’t bad at all. Really, it was kinda nice being soooo far away from DQ, BK, Dominoes and Walmart. (So, how did I consume so many calories you may ask? H.S. is an AMAZING cook and kept us very well fed and had NO intention of taking home any leftovers…so I thought I’d help with that)

Now, for you reading this who know I don’t get any scrapbooking done normally, I want you to know that I did 27 pages so I really did scrapbook. And in case you aren’t totally convinced…here’s proof:

The 100 degree water was a wonderful contrast to the air temp of..what…15 degrees??(Two of my cronies are missing… R took the pic and the other R (who is a scrappin machine!!!) had gotten out and was….scrappin some more.)

We gals got to gab all weekend and somehow I became the keeper of a list of stuff to google lol I apologize to my buddies, I have misplaced the “list” but have found a couple of things:

It really is very interesting reading, you should check it out. Did you know, that when the missles were active..that if ND became it’s own country that it would have been the strongest nuculear power in the world? I made the mistake of telling DH that we saw some missle sites and an LF, so he opened up google earth and I swear I haven’t heard much from him since. Guess he likes that kind of stuff.

And the gum that I was reminded of by that paper I used is here..it’s the last pack shown.

Funny how ordinary stuff can sometimes make you think of obscure things isn’t it?

Which brings me to M R Ducks. Just where in the HELL did this originate? I learned it as a kid from my Aunt Lori like this:

I’ve just read that “cricuit” sales have skyrocketed today…I wonder why?? I got to play with that fun little machine and now I WANT ONE NOW!!!!! I looked up the one that takes 12×12 paper and it’s $499.99….too rich for my blood, but I think if I ask for the big one first and tell him the price (cause he’ll say NO)THEN ask for the little one….heheheeeeee
