I want my newspaper NOW!!

I love getting a newspaper in the morning. I’m one of those “newsy” people that like to know what’s going on by my daily paper has got to have the worst customer service and delivery in the entire world.

It all started when I first subscribed. They told me the paper would start the next day…it didn’t. It was then I found out how much they suck. Over the next two weeks, no kidding I think I made daily calls to the customer service dept. I was always assured “you WILL have your paper tomorrow” and it never came. Then, imagine my frustration when I found out that the customer service department for my LOCAL ND paper, was located in FLORIDA. Yes, you read that right….FLORIDA. Guess that’s what happens when big newspapers buy out smaller newspapers. Each time I would call, some nice lady or young gentle man in FLORIDA would call my local carrier in NORTH DAKOTA and have them deliver my paper. Give me a friggen break! Turns out that since the new construction where I live caused the house numbers to change, (duplexes now sit where 4 and 6 plexes used to) that their computer didn’t see my address as a valid address!

Fast forward some 18+ months later. Since the DH is off working, I soon saw that I wasn’t reading the daily paper except for the weekend, so I changed delivery to Fri, Sat and Sun. Well, today is Sat and guess what? NO PAPER!!! Ok, it’s happened before, like 2 weekends ago so I call customer service which, by the way, seems to have someone local answering, and I tell them I didn’t get my paper. Now, normally they would have my carrier deliver it that same day. Well, not today. This person on the other end of the line tells me “well we can’t redeliver out there today, would you like us to bring it with tomorrows paper?” Um, excuse me, but NO. If I pay for the newspaper to be delivered on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I want my papers ON Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I don’t give a rats ass if I let that Saturday paper sit until Sunday before I read it anyway,the point is…I want my paper on that day.

So, she tells me she will credit my account to which I reply, well you better because now I’ll have to go and buy my own paper today which completely is the very reason I SUBSCRIBE FOR DELIVERY. Who wants to GO out for the newspaper on Saturday and Sunday morning! Don’t those people know that I don’t get dressed before noon?!?!

AND by the way, I want decent COUPONS!!
