***No dakrats were harmed in the creation of this story. We let the nasty rodent back into the wild*****
Son: “Mom, do we have another bird stuck in the garage? “
Mom: “No, not that I know of”
Son: “Because I heard something chirping when I came in”
Mom: “Well then, go look and see what you can find, and if it’s a bird, leave the doors open so it can get out”
Mom soon hears crashing in the garage and discovers that dad isn’t in backyard with the girls anymore and goes to investigate……..
Ahhh, never a dull momemnt in our house, that’s for sure. That crashing, was my husand and son chasing a dakrat that was stuck in our garage. Dakrat = flickertail gopher = ground squirrell = fun for Efam.
I opened the back door to look in the garage to see what the clowns were up to, only to find the cat cage pressed up against a cardboard box against the wall, with my husband with the brush to wash the tires in his hand, guiding the poor little creature into the box. Cool!!
He gets the sucker in the box (catcage) finally and I am directed to quickly set the catcage up on end, and slam the wire door shut. Bam! Holy crap, we got it!!!
Now, what do you do with a caged dakrat? Well, if you live in my house, you must cart your trophy around the house and look at it a while. And, see if the cats will go nuts over it. The kitties didn’t really give a rats ass (lol, that was funny..laugh!) but they were curious to see what was peeping in the catcage. I don’t think Hazel really cared because after all, it wasn’t her in the cage. Here, take a look:
