my crawlspace is a dump.
I never lift that hatch to see what’s down there. As far as I knew, it was just stereo, tv and computer boxes…
So today I’m looking for one of my books, and hubby said that he recently put a box of books down there. We had agreed when we moved in over 18 months ago.. that it was better to be safe than sorry than to put anything down there, god forbid, the sump pump doesn’t work correctly and ruin it all.
So he puts a box of books in the crawlspace. A box with my high school yearbooks in it. Guess what? I decide to pull the trap door in the floor and take a gander at this box he tells me he put down there and everything is soaking wet!!!!! Including my yearbooks. Thankfully it didn’t include my Sr Yearbook, but still, there were 4 years of memories in those books, know what I mean?
I call hubby at work and tell HIM to call maint. to come look at it. I kid you not, that big plummer jumped down in that hole and I heard “splash”. Splash!! I didn’t realize it was that wet! So, they’re gonna come try to fix things tomorrow. Tomorrow! Why? The sump pump is going to be a bitch to reach, it’s like on the other side of the house and they will have to crawl to get to it.
Hubby and “the boy” took the wet stuff out of the crawlspace…I took pictures and even made a little video documentary of it…while they were working. Nice huh?
At least it was clean water and not sewage……that would have really sucked. (ask my friend Terri, she’s the expert!)
YEs it would have sucked!!!!!!
YES-SEWAGE WATER SUCKS AND TALK ABOUT STINK EWWWW!
I’m sorry about your yearbooks! THAT would upset me!! Make sure if you put anything back down there that it goes in Rubbermaids.
