I told you so.

Looking for my “post a day”??  Well, you’re gonna have to go HERE.  Try and keep up, I know it’s difficult to hit that “add to favorites” button, but just try will ya? LOL LOL LOL

Can I play too?

I’m gonna follow Heather’s lead and “try” and do a post a day too, we’ll see how it goes.

For the record though, there is NO WAY in hell will I EVER post a video of me talking LOL  E & B, I do like yours though, I just ain’t gonna ever do it hehe

Anyway, speaking of videos, Heather in Japan and people bowing, I ran across this, I hope you enjoy it!!

http://www.hulu.com/watch/20337/saturday-night-live-snl-digital-short-the-japanese-office#s-p1-st-i2

And, can I just say I really HATE wordpress?  I’m moving back to blogger, stay tuned….

{but seriously, go watch that video, you will love it lol…gotta run and get the kids to bed now so I can watch Dexter LOL}

Been hearing crickets?

I’m still here, just havent’ been inspired to blog lately I guess LOL

So, we’re moved and settled.  There are still a few odds and ends boxes to take care of and pictures to hang, but for the most part, this is home sweet home now.

What’s been going on…

Well, Morgan had a birthday and turned 8.  We bought her some webkinz and a new bike.  I bribed her with chocolate chip pancakes the morning of her birthday if she would get out of bed without grumping at me for two days in a row and she did it :)   I made her cake too, exactly as she wanted it.  She was a happy kid :)   She has also started going to her new GS Brownie troop meeting…not at all thrilled at the moment about it and I promised her that if she goes a few times and it still really sucks and she hates it, then she can quit.  Anyway, here she is:

Maegan and Jordan are settling well into their new school….

We went trick or treating but I did not take pics.  I sent my sister $$ for costumes and she picked some good ones.  The E kids went as a genie, a witch and a “groovy chick”.  I met up with my friend Marla and her boys and we walked around a bit as the kids went running door to door.  We didnt’ get a lot of kids at our house, but then we weren’t home till the end of the night too, so maybe that’s why.

Devin, is Devin lol  He’s brought his 2 grades back up he needed too, and has earned the priviledge to come home from school during lunch.  We live ridiculously close to the school, so why not right?  Here’s how close, this was taken from his bedroom window LOL

100_2457

He and Kevin went to his sports banquet the other night and he came home with his “letter” and Cross Country pin to put on it…now we have to get him his coat to wear it on.  He’s decided not to play football next year, he loved Cross Country and has decided to stick with that instead.  He’s still in the JROTC program and doing well, he is now the rank of Cadette MSGT.  Here’s a pic of happy boy home for lunch in his uniform.  He comes home and cooks ramen noodles and chucks in a can of some sort of meat.  A real Emeril isn’t he?  LOL

009We’ve decided to try to extend for another year here if we can so he can graduate from this school. We’d hate to move him into a new school for his Sr year.

Tonight, I went to Bingo at the community center with some friends.  It was Polish Pottery night, and I actually won something…yay!!  I had gone to the Vera Bradley Bingo last month and didn’t win snot, but oh well…  Here’s the pot I won.  I had joked that now we had a pot to piss in, and when I came home, he said the exact same thing.   It’s my first piece of PP believe it or not, and I really do like it.012

I like my pot, it’s simple :)

I got my bi-monthly hair cut…I really need to cut it sooner than that, but I’m just lazy.  I will have to find a new girl to do it because I was literally the appt my gal has for the next year.  She’s German, having her first baby and won’t be working for the next year…sniff!  I’m getting more gray and it’s pissing me off too.

I had a stye on my eye the last couple of days and thankfully, Kevin’s car was in the shop getting new brakes (and roters, whatever…) and he had my van so I didn’t have to go anywhere LOL  Everytime I looked in the mirror I heard my parents saying “you get styes in your eyes from peeing in the street”.  I’ve looked online with no luck as to the origin of that myth….I wonder where it came from?  I assure you I have not peed in the street…EVER.  LOL  At the same time, I also had a pimple on my butt.  Take that however you want, yes, I guess that was the same thing!  LOL

I had strep, along with something else that had me knocked out like a zombie for a whole day…it sucked.

Kevin babysat my friends boys tonight so she could go to bingo with me.  I know she probably thinks Kevin was just being polite, but her boys really WERE good for him, and my girls loved having them here with them.

Kevin has been Kevin, doing his thing like he always does.  He’s been up e.a.r.l.y. for the last two months studying for his next rank.  He tests in Dec.

And me, well I’m just me.  I’m home, I go to coffee, I bug my friends, I walk my kids to school, I bought a pink “Bind it All’ and I’m nearly ready to have my friends over to stamp…I’ve SO missed doing that…..  I had also started going to a thing at the Health and Wellness Center but have found that evening things just don’t work out for me….oh well.  I’m out walking again too.

Well, it’s 12:30 and I’m tired and  Yahoo just told me I got an email that says I won a million Brittish pounds.  Don’t I freaking wish!?

**Edit**  I’ve no idea why the  pics of Morgan didn’t end up big like the others and I can’t get it changed for some reason…..  Blah!

Some people…

need to update their blog.  I’m not going to mention any names, but if you take a look at my blog list, don’t click on Jenny, Terri or Rebecca’s blogs…you will be bored LOLOLOL

So, it’s Monday.  We finished cleaning our house in Borrstadt yesterday and Kevin is meeting with the Fromkorth’s today to turn in our keys.  They stopped in yesterday for a few minutes while we were cleaning, and Gertrude told us how sorry she is that we won’t be living in her house anymore, that she’s loved having our family there, that she will miss the kids.  She really loves my girls (and Devin though she rarely saw him), poor gal had tears in her eyes…broke my heart….

The girls started their new school today.  It was rough for Meg and Morgan, they were both crying.. We did find that one of our new neighbors (they moved in last week) has a daughter that Meg met while going to the garbage, in the same class and she started today too.  Jordan took it all in stride and went right off with her new teacher and classmates…go figure.

Devin is getting to do more “normal” stuff without the added hassle of being driven 20 miles to do it…Saturday, he did a color guard thing for JROTC, then went to the homecoming dance that night.    This week was full of changes for him…new house, first high school dance, new (old) girlfriend, and getting DUMPED by his new/old girlfriend.  Apparently, the “girlfriend” was the same girl he had gotten in trouble drinking with on the last day of school..she “asked him out” on Monday, only to dump him on Friday…at the dance.  He told me when I picked him up and all I could really muster to say was “oh man, gee that sucks…good thing we didn’t shell out the $15 for her ticket”……Is that bad?  I’m actually relieved LOL

So, I’m sitting here and my house is full of boxes I should be unpacking…ugh.  I’m taking my time today…after the craziness of the last week, the peace and quiet is really nice right now, and I’m allowing myself to enjoy it for a bit….need to run out for some cookie stuff too, as I promised the stinkers a treat after school today…I think those pillsbury halloween cookies may just fit the bill LOL.   You didn’t think I’d actually bake from scratch yet did you?

Enjoy your day :)

Surprisingly…. good?!

I made this for dinner tonight, it’s called Mac & Cheese Lasagne.

I found it here:  http://www.kraftfoods.com/kf/recipes/mac-cheese-lasagna-94496.aspx

Notice, it’s a “healthy living” recipe, and let me tell you…..my entire family gobbled it  up as fast as I could put it on their plates. ( It was really good believe it or not!!)  I made mine  using canned spaghetti sauce and doubled the recipe because there ARE 6 of us  ya know *wink*

Too good not to share

Took this one day while playing with the laptop shortly after hubby brought it home.  Figured it was time to give the rest of you a good laugh over it too. Enjoy!!

It’s 2:45 in the afternoon and I am still in my jammies. My purple Eyore jammies at that, complete with my Eyore slippers :) As a matter of fact, most of my family is still sporting their jammies today…and to make it all even better, I still had bedhead and glasses too hehe…Ahhhh, Sunday!

I rolled out of bed and got some coffee and allowed myself to wake up a while, then made breakfast. A nice big heart clogging breakfast of bacon, eggs, toast, potatoes, oj….yum. Our weekdays, we normally eat something like cold cereal, pb on toast, oatmeal or frozen waffles, so breakfast on the weekends in our house is a real treat. If we ate all week like we ate today, we’d surely all be in the ground because our hearts would have stopped LONG ago!

This is the week we move, and really, we aren’t one bit more prepared today than we have been in the last month or so we knew we’d be moving…I’m sure you’re not one bit surprised either are you? We’re such “do it at the last minute” people…at least we are getting all the laundry done today LOL

Anyway, I spent some time stamping yesterday, making my cards for the swap on Tuesday. Here’s the inspiration behind my card:

I used Sahara Sand, More Mustard and Really Rust and I do like how it turned out. You will have to wait a while longer to actually SEE the card however, as a few of my swappin’ friends read my blog too and I don’t want to spoil the fun LOL

Today, I spent and itsy bitsy bit of time cleaning my desk and ran across my first cookbook. It’s been in my desk for a long time…it’s old LOL It’s one of those PTA cookbooks, nothing fancy, but my mother’s favorite sister Pat was the Cook Book Committee Chairman for it, and in it my Grandmothers No Cook  Sweet Pickle recipe and my favorite cake of all time, Hummingbird Cake. It’s from 1982, the cover had fallen off and the pages are yellowing and when I saw it today I thought to myself…I can FIX that! So, I did. Take a look!

I took off the original binding and put the front and back covers onto card stock and laminated them..I then re-bound them using my bind it all, but I had to punch the cover holes by hand as the BIA holes would be off just enough to not line it up correctly. The wire however, had enough give as to stretch and make it work. Happy 25th Birthday Thunderbird Cookbook, you have been given a new life! hehe

Just to add a bit of info too about the recipes in the book…my mom is from the South, Arkansas to be exact, so this cookbook to me is like a “southern cooking primer” for this Northern Raised PA yankee LOL

Speaking of cookbooks, I told you about one a while back that I bought, the Betty Crocker one….well, the other night, I used one of the crock pot recipes, Italian Smothered Steak. OMG yum!!! If you don’t have this cookbook, you need to get it. My family has LOVED everything I have made out of it so far!!

And finally. Last night, we stayed in. We didn’t go to Heidelberg for the meet either, just decided to stay home and let Devin go on the bus, but in return, we got pizza from our favorite place since the Euro is actually doing a bit more decent than normal (go figure, stock market is crashing and our gas prices and Euro rates are making us very happy right now LOL) Anyway, we rented some movies and Kevin and I watched “What Happens in Vegas” (OMG very funny!) and both fell asleep (well almost, but not, but enough to where we decided we better turn it off LOL) watching “88 Minutes” ….so I guess when I’m done here…we’ll finish watching it.

I might get dressed today, who knows….but probably not. LOL

MY view

Lately, I’ve been watching more TV than normal, and nearly every day now, I’ve been watching “The View”…and I am really growing to HATE that show. Why? Because every single conversation about politics turns into a shouting match. There is no real sense to that at ALL (the shouting) IMO. I guess it’s just that I think that if you can’t have a conversation without ending up yelling, then maybe it’s a topic you shouldn’t discuss…thus, politics for them. I personally don’t like to talk politics (or religion) as it’s an issue in which there is a definate line in beliefs too often…but that’s just me. (I will on occasion talk about religion with close friends, however, I will not DEBATE about religion, make sense?)

One thing I do like lately, or should I say LOVE, is vanilla cupcakes. LOL no, not real vanilla cupcakes, but YANKEE CANDLE scent of vanilla cupcakes. Since the girls and I love them so much, Kevin does not mind forking over $18 for a jarred candle. (secretly, he loves them too, along with chocolate, flavored coffee and gossip hehe)

And now, why I really got on here to blog today is this. It’s Devin cross country pic he just got back the other day so I thought I’d share :) May I remind you…he’s 15…ugh! Insane how time flies for these kids.

Where’s the beef?

Apparently it’s all here on this site  http://www.supersizedmeals.com/food/

I found this lovely site on a daily email I get from Weighty Matters….I hope you enjoy it :)   I’ve not passed along any good web site finds in a loooong time, so I thought this would be enjoyed by all LOL

Sometimes, I blog

And sometimes, I don’t.  Today, I guess I do since this is my second post today LOL

10 more days and we get the keys to our “different” house on base and the moving truck comes to haul all of our crap for us. Yay!  That means I have 8 days to get a stack of cards done for the swap I’m hostessing and have not started yet LOL

Today was kind of an icky day…not so much the weather, as it was just reaaaaaly windy, but just ick.  Kevin and I both felt kind of crabby in the “we really could just crawl back in bed and sleep all day kind of way” lol So, instead of going back to bed, we did what every married forever couple does I guess and left the kids at home and went to the commissary….. Ladies, there is a REASON I generally go by myself, or at least send HIM to myself.  When I go by myself, I can wander around in my ADD sort of way with no one to complain.  Him, on the other hand, not so much.  I guess he just doesn’t like following me around with the shopping cart LOL  We then went for coffee and shared a slice of cheesecake on ROB (didn’t feel like driving to Ramstein)…it was nice to get away from the house yet again…

So, cheesecake…yah, about that…  You see, this week was week ONE of a 12 week program I am doing through the Health and Wellness Center (HAWC) called LEARN…My friend Cristen and I are going together as we have similar goals and challenges.  For the first week, we just kind of did an intro to the program and next week they are actually going to WEIGH and MEASURE us and all that good stuff.  Yah….So, this week, the plan was to log everything we eat.  What a freaking eye opener that was just for two days I managed to do it for so far.  NO.WONDER.I.AM.FAT.  That’s all I’m going to say about that.  I guess I could keep you all updated on how this goes huh??

Friday night I went to Bingo with another friend of mine, Desiree.  We went to the community center near my soon to be new home to play Vera Bradley Bingo.  Yep I like those fugly bags, but only in the right print on the right style…didn’t win anything but we still had a lot of fun.

Lastly, Jordan is reading, and boy are we surprised.  She’s only been in school for a month now and “they” are on the letter E this week.  Funny how she’s learning the alphabet and can already read..to me that’s like walking before you can crawl LOL  She definately isn’t a baby anymore….she’s a full fledged kid LOL
